Scribble Sprint: Freewrite and Narrative Techniques

Finding hours to put pen to paper is often the biggest block to creativity. Carve out dedicated time to silence your inner critic and learn to write quickly with other professionals in this two- hour class. In addition, we’ll briefly cover narrative techniques you can immediately use in your prose, such as:

The five modes of narrative:

  • Description
  • Action
  • Dialogue
  • Thought
  • Exposition
  • Chronological order vs. flashbacks
  • Nonlinear, disjointed, and disrupted narrative

This class is taught by a graduate student in the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s MFA Program in Creative Writing.
