Songwriting can be a solitary exercise. It can be a collaboration. Or it can be what the popular Kansas City pop-jazz duo Victor & Penny (Jeff Freling and Erin McGrane) make it: a community experience.

In the second part of a two-day Songwriter in You program, Victor & Penny sit down with songwriter and musician Kasey Rausch, co-host of KKFI 90.1 FM's River Trade Radio,  for a public conversation peppered with a few live muscial performances. Their discussion will explore the creative process of songwriting -- inspiration, production, refining and editing, execution --  and will talk about their experiences working as professional musicians. They will also debut a new song created using ideas offered by the public at the Central Library on Tuesday, June 19, during the duo’s signature SongLab session.  Read more about the SongLab >
