Fibers of Being

The Weavers Guild of Kansas City

Since 1954, the Weavers Guild of Kansas City has focused on promoting fiber arts – weaving, spinning, felting, crochet, knitting, and rug hooking – through meetings, demonstrations, and workshops in basic and advanced techniques.

The Guild has grown through the decades as a regional organization, and members display their work in Fibers of Being, a curated exhibition of hand weaving and fiber arts honoring the Guild’s 70th anniversary.

This celebration – in the Library’s 150th anniversary year – acknowledges the Guild’s contributions and provides an opportunity to strengthen artistic and community partnerships.
