The Fourth Biennial Urban Farms and Gardens Tour, a week-long showcase of urban agriculture across the Kansas City metro area, kicks off with a presentation by author, farmer, and food system activist Michael Ableman.

In his presentation, Ableman will share his thoughts on how we can redeem our food system and the integrity of the environment while embracing food as a keystone of human life and community. Ableman believes urban farms are essential elements of sane, healthy, and lively communities.

A reception will precede and follow the presentation.
