Library Giving Day is April 1! Your support ensures that all Kansas Citians have access to books, eBooks, audiobooks, and library services.
This annual screening-and-discussion series continues in February with more psychological studies of films directed by one of the most uniquely stylish and idiosyncratic movie makers of our time, David Lynch.
Lynch delivers an uncharacteristically straightforward and heartfelt account of Alvin Straight (played by Richard Farnsworth), a true-life 73-year-old from Iowa who drove his lawn tractor to Wisconsin to make peace with his estranged brother. Post-screening discussion is led by psychoanalyst Marilyn Metzl and journalist and film critic Abby Olcese.
This event is co-sponsored by: Greater Kansas City and Topeka Psychoanalytic Center
