A Musical Paris All Our Own

Hear Paris brought to life through words and song. Inspired by the personal essays in A Paris All Your Own: Bestselling Women Writers on the City of Light, vocalist Lucille Windsor, pianist Lamar Sims, and special guest tenor Drew Duncan invite you on an exploration of this city known for its iconic landmarks, intimate cafés, and romance.

Windsor spent many years performing opera, drama, and musical theater on the East Coast, with favorite operatic roles including the Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro with Jade Opera in New York City, Despina in Così fan tutte at Brooklyn Music School, and Lucy in The Telephone with the Garden State Opera.

Since returning home to Kansas City, she has focused on drama and musical theater, including, in March, Passionate Victorian: The Songs of Amy Beach with Thin Air Productions.

Sims is a Kansas City-based pianist, performer, and teacher. He recently celebrated 20 years as accompanist with the Heartland Men’s Chorus, Kansas City’s gay men’s chorus, founded in 1986.

Duncan has performed with symphonies and opera companies across the country, including the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Virginia Opera, Sarasota Opera, Chicago Opera Theater, Chamber Opera Chicago, and the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra, among others.
