Kansas City Veterans Write: Readers' Theater

Presented By
Jon Michael Johnson

Participants in the September 2025 Veterans Write Workshop give readings of their original works on the theme "The Importance of Holding Space." This event provides an opportunity for local veterans and their families to share their work with the public.

Both the workshop and subsequent event are designed to help veterans, active-duty members, and their families develop writing and narrative skills that can empower them to tell their stories, whether they are true-life accounts or wholly original tales.

The Readers’ Theater is moderated by Jon Michael Johnson, a writer and director who is the artistic director of Cooper Square Productions in Kansas City.

This event is presented in partnership with the Veterans’ Voices Writing Project.
