Every other June Cultivate Kansas City holds the Urban Grown Farms & Gardens Tour to showcase efforts to grow fresh, natural foods in the neighborhoods where we live, work, shop, and play. This kickoff event features a host of guest speakers, Boulevard beer, and appetizers made with locally-grown produce.
Join us at 6:00 p.m. and enjoy food and music while mingling with the urban agriculture community. The main program will begin at 6:30 p.m., highlighting our local community of growers, artists, teachers, chefs, health-care providers and food activists who are weaving the threads of urban agriculture in Kansas City, growing the movement from seed to revolution.
Guest speakers include urban farmer Loretta Craig, UMKC urban planning professor Jake Wagner, Harvest chef Renee Kelly, and Brandon Hidaka of the Food Is Medicine group at the KU Medical Center.
