All Library locations will be closed Monday, May 26, for Memorial Day.
For Benjamin Todd Wills, art is born of curiosity as well as creativity.
The Kansas City artist launched the first of two balloon-powered, camera-equipped aircraft late in 2018, using variations in altitude and speed and interactions with light, wind, and moisture to create images that recall the brush strokes of some of history’s great impressionists—Monet, Alfred Sisley, and the project’s 19th-century namesake, Camille Pissarro.
Wills discusses his Pissarro missions, and invites his audience to join him in launching the third craft in his “aeronautic visual art program” from the Central Library’s fifth-floor Rooftop Terrace.
