A Look at 200 Years on Troost

Presented By
Father Paisius (David) Altschul

The curator of the exhibit 200 Years on Troost, Father Paisius (David) Altschul, talks about the avenue's rich history, from Osage Indian trail, to the man who lent it his name, to a bustling 1950s shopping hub, to the turmoil of the 1968 riots.

Today, it's a community where diversity is appreciated, a new bridge and MAX bus route are being built, and more than 100,000 tulips have been planted. Father Altschul attended high school in the neighborhood and chose to return there to live and work.  He directs Reconciliation Services.

The exhibit, 200 Years on Troost, is on display at Central Library through October 17, 2010.
