Kansas native Ande Parks discusses his two graphic novels, Union Station and Capote in Kansas, and their form as art and literature on Wednesday, June 9, at 6:30 p.m. at the Central Library, 14 W. 10th St.

Parks explains how a graphic novel takes shape, from research to script, from artwork to final product. He’ll dissect a scene set in Union Station and discuss the goals of the scene and how the writer and artist work together to serve those goals.

He will also discuss his belief that the graphic novel is a vital and important art form, capable of telling any kind of story uniquely and effectively.

Both books will be available for sale, and Parks will sign copies purchased during the event.
