Often referred to as eight years of peace and prosperity, the administration of President Dwight D. Eisenhower (1953-61) was in fact an era of great scientific, social, and political changes. Some were positive, others negative—but all came at a price and greatly affected the lives of the American people.
To put these developments in perspective and assess their continuing influence on contemporary society, Tim Rives and William Snyder of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum present Eisenhower: Agent of Change. Their illustrated talk offers an overview of a new exhibit of the same name now on display in Abilene, Kansas, through January 2012.
