Cowboys, Quacks, and Carousels: Stories of Kansas

Presented By
Dee Harris

National Archives and Records Administration Exhibits Specialist Dee Harris discusses Cowboys, Quacks, and Carousels: Stories of Kansas.

The exhibit commemorates the 150th anniversary of Kansas statehood and features a myriad of characters from Kansas history. Using documents from a variety of federal records, the exhibit introduces some of the ordinary and not-so-ordinary people who have called Kansas their home – from C.W. Parker, who made Leavenworth the carousel capital of the world, to Dr. John Brinkley, who believed goat glands could cure impotence.

The exhibit will be on display at the National Archives – Kansas City, 400 W. Pershing Rd., through May 28.
