Architecture Within Time, Beyond Image

Presented By
Goncalo Byrne

Buildings have a life of their own, reflecting permanence, transformation, vulnerability, and the touches of their inhabitants.

Spotlighting a series of his contemporary works, renowned architect Goncalo Byrne examines the ways architecture can create different spatial sensations that go beyond first impressions. They improve lives and endure in time.

Byrne is serving this year as the Victor L. Regnier distinguished visiting chair in the architecture department at Kansas State University's College of Architecture, Planning & Design. A native of Portugal, his work has been honored by Italy’s Adrianea Academy of Architecture and Archeology, the French Academy of Architecture, and the International Association of Art Critics.

Co-presented by the Kansas City Design Center in conjunction with Kansas City Design Week.
