May 19, 2025, marks the 100th birthday of Civil Rights leader Malcolm X. In honor of his historic contributions to American history and the global fight for justice, the Southeast Branch invites you to a special presentation of the acclaimed film Malcolm X.
Often misunderstood, Malcolm X was one of the leading forces of the United States' Civil Rights Movement. He inspired many--and challenged many--but his legacy remains one of the most impactful of the 20th century. Directed by Spike Lee and featuring an Academy Award-nominated performance by Denzel Washington, Malcolm X is a riveting and humanizing biography of a man at the center of a storm of change. The film also stars Angela Bassett, Albert Hall, Al Freeman Jr., and Delroy Lindo.
Light Refreshments will be served.
