This half-day workshop commemorating World Doll Day kicks off with a keynote presentation by Lenexa author Elizabeth Bunce, who just released her third book about 12-year-old amateur sleuth Myrtle Hardcastle. Cold-Blooded Myrtle is set in Victorian England during a period of great forensic innovation, including fingerprinting and other crime-solving techniques, all of which the youngster is eager to make use of.
The discussion is followed by a short break, with the first 250 registered attendees receiving a free doll. Programming resumes at 3:30 with additional speakers.
The event is co-sponsored by the National Museum of Toys and Miniatures, the Westport Historical Society, The Doll Cradle, the Kansas City Chiefs, and The United Federation of Doll Club Inc.
