All Library locations will be closed Tuesday, December 24 & Wednesday, December 25, for the Christmas holiday.
Doors open: 8 pm • Program: 8:45 pm
As ‘90s Brit supergroup The Spice Girls gear up for the biggest concert of their career, the trappings of fame and their grueling performance schedule are taking a toll. Amid the stress, the pop singers must deal with outside forces conspiring to put the brakes on Girl Power – a tawdry tabloid publisher, an opportunistic documentary crew, a pair of tenacious Hollywood writers, and an eccentric record company owner. Supporting cast includes Roger Moore, George Wendt, Jennifer Saunders, Alan Cumming, and Meat Loaf.
Tunes: Do you really need to ask?
This year the Library’s FREE Off-the-Wall rooftop summer film series highlights quirky characters fighting the status quo. These madcap movie escapades are set to memorable soundtracks ideally produced to serve up shenanigans.
MAY 12: Wayne’s World (1992, PG-13, 1 hr 34 min.)
JUNE 9: To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar (1995, PG-13, 1 hr 49 min.)
JULY 14: Wet Hot American Summer (2001, R, 1 hr 37 min.)

You may bring outside food and non-alcoholic beverages (no glass containers, please!).
Doors open at 8 pm. (Note: The Central Library closes at 5 p.m. on Fridays, but the doors reopen at 8 p.m. for Off-the-Wall audiences.) All movies begin at dusk (approximately 8:45 p.m.). In case of bad weather, screenings are moved indoors.
Complimentary parking is available in the Library District parking garage at 10th and Baltimore. Bring your parking ticket for validation. Transit options: take KC Streetcar to the Library stop at 9th/Main or Ride KC buses to 10th/Main transit plaza.
