Kickoff: 2023 Art in the Loop Project

As the 2023 Art in the Loop Project begins its nearly six-month run in downtown Kansas City, meet its lineup of artists and performers and take in a variety of special performances and presentations. Project Director Ann Holliday, vice president of the Downtown Council of Kansas City, offers opening remarks.

The curated outdoor exhibition of temporary art and performances, in its 10th year, offers photography, painting, digitized illustrations, and other artwork along or near the KC Streetcar route. Art in the Loop also features a performance series – live music, performance art, theater, improv, poetry/spoken word, and other site-specific acts at streetcar stops, Oppenstein Brothers Memorial Park, and the City Market.

All follow the theme Celebrate, with artists showing how and what they celebrate in their lives.

Art in the Loop continues into November. The kickoff event is co-presented by the Art in the Loop Foundation and KC Streetcar Authority.
