The Cold Weather Shelter plan is a city-wide coordinated effort to offer winter shelter. Several shelters and warming centers are available. Please call ahead for hours and availability.
Extreme Weather Shelters: During the winter months, Kansas City, Missouri, funds a network of low barrier emergency shelters for the unhoused community.
Nine locations across the metro, with a total of 400 city funded beds, will operate between December 1 and March 1 during extreme weather.
To access services, begin at the Navigation Center at Hope Faith Homelessness Assistance Campus (705 Virginia Ave.). Staff will refer individuals to specific locations for services to help achieve housing goals, including inpatient treatment, vital document assistance, low-income housing, transitional living, and other services.
