Library Continues Second Season of Writing Workshops
Wednesday, January 12, 2022
The Kansas City Public Library is continuing the second season of its popular online classes for beginning and intermediate-level writers interested in developing their craft.
The classes, taught by graduate students in the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s MFA Program in Creative Writing, cover topics ranging from poetry and fiction to journalism and screenwriting.
Each is offered online via Zoom. RSVPs are required, using the links below. Class sizes will be limited, and students will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Art matters. Community matters. The environment matters. In this class, we express that through poetry. Explore writing about the world around us with poetry based on facts, news, and history. We look at techniques and read poems that are doing this kind of work. We will workshop poems each week.
