Writing 101
Tuesdays and Thursdays, November 17 through December 10
6:45-8 p.m.
Ideal for beginning writers, this class will utilize a writers’ workshop format to help students learn the basics of writing. The instructor will provide writing prompts to use in class and between classes. Students may also choose their topics. Participants will learn how to give helpful feedback and revise their writing as they gain new insights.
Writing Found Poems
Wednesdays, November 18 through December 9
6-8 p.m.
Participants will write a poem each week, adapting words written by someone else to give them new meaning and insight. The interplay between the source and the new poem adds another layer of meaning.
Courses are made possible by proceeds from the 2019 Writers for Readers fundraising event.
