2020 Virtual Veterans Writing Workshops

Tuesday, October 20, 2020

Veterans Writing WorkshopWhether during active combat or after returning home from a tour of duty, many of our nation’s veterans have had traumatic, stressful experiences that are difficult to discuss or share with others. For many who have served, having a safe and creative outlet to share their thoughts and experiences or explore their original ideas can be rewarding and enriching.

The Veterans Writing Workshop is designed to help veterans, active military, and their family members develop writing and narrative skills that can empower them to tell their stories, whether they are true-life accounts or wholly original tales. Each of the sessions is free and conducted by professional writers and educators; they provide the same high level of instruction as a college or university writing course.

The workshop series is free and open to veterans, active duty military, and veterans' family members. Children must be 16 years of age and accompanied by their parent or guardian.

All Veterans Writing Workshop sessions take place on Saturdays, November 7 through November 21, 2020. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the workshop will be privately streamed on Zoom. Attendees must register to receive a link and are strongly encouraged to attend all three. For questions or to register for the series, visit the links below,  or email vetswrite@kclibrary.org
