Cultivating Your Craft Skills with Your Library Card

NOTE: The Creativebug survey is now closed. Thanks to all who participated!
Are you crafty? Do you want to be in 2019? We need you! The Kansas City Public Library is considering adding a new service for patrons who love arts and crafts, and we need your help to test it out.
Take a look at Creativebug from JoAnn Fabric. Click here for free access directly from the Library’s digital branch page. A subscription normally costs up to $95 a year, but with your Library card you don’t pay a penny.
Creativebug offers video tutorials for more than 1,000 art and design classes taught by experts. The subject matter is endless.
Here is just a sampling:
- Sewing
- Knitting
- Painting
- Kids’ crafts
- Furniture upholstery
- Cake decorating
- Jewelry making
Here’s where you can help: We need you to test drive it. Log in with your Library card number and PIN, and try out any class you want. Then, when you’re done, fill out this survey.
The videos run anywhere from five minutes to a few hours, depending on the skill level of the project. If you’ve never crafted before, don’t worry. There are plenty of beginner-level classes to get you started. So, get out your Library card and get started. Let us know what you think and whether we should add Creativebug to our services.
Happy crafting!
