The Kansas City Library Community Resources Team provides individuals experiencing life challenges an inclusive place to access the connections, support, and services they need. The Team helps patrons find helping agencies, complete forms for utilities, rent, and housing, locate free meals, food pantries, clothes, and showers, find medical and dental care services, and acquire vital documents with handouts.
Duties and Responsibilities
This VISTA position will work closely with the Community Resources Team, community members, nonprofits, and government agencies to create a plan for all agencies in the Kansas City Metro to follow when providing homeless services. The VISTA will bring together the collective knowledge and experience of these agencies and individuals to provide a structure for services to help all agencies and those that they serve understand the step-by-step process to navigating out of homelessness. This process will help partner agencies and the library be efficient in their services, identify areas of overlap, and highlight gaps in the services that no agencies are offering.
