Kansas City Public Library serves over 200,000 residents with their 10 branches. The Library is also responsible for thousands of dollars in grants. The goal of the Philanthropy Department is to support the Library by fundraising, managing grants for programming and projects, and sustaining the Library's reputation in the Kansas City community as the doorway to knowledge for all.
Duties and Responsibilities
Member Duties : The goal of the project is to provide financial resources for programs and activities to support the Kansas City Public Library. The VISTA will coordinate fundraising activities and reporting KPIs that will provide sustainable support for the library. The project will build capacity for the Kansas City Public Library by providing a plan to support library grant implementation, improve community engagement during the Library’s strategic planning process, and support library programs by coordinating funding opportunities. This work will create local access to library services and technology, encourage civic participation, and create internal systems of alignment within the Library for effective fundraising programs.
Requirements
- Be 18 years or older.
- Pass a national service criminal history check.
- Hold one of the following statuses: US Citizen, LPR, refugee, asylee, DACA, or TPS.
