Studs Terkel’s Working: People Talk About What They Do All Day and How They Feel About What They Do epitomizes the Pulitzer Prize-winning author’s gift for connecting with people and collecting their stories. Drawn from more than 100 interviews with working men and women—from a gravedigger and piano tuner to a policeman and a studio head—the 1974 oral history remains a timeless snapshot of people’s feelings about their jobs and a look at how work fits into American life.

In a script-in-hand performance commemorating Labor Day, members of Kansas City’s Equity Actors' Readers' Theatre read selections from Terkel’s best-selling book-turned-Broadway show. The event kicks off EARTh’s 2018-19 season.

Co-presented by the Equity Actors' Readers' Theatre, which presents infrequently produced, large-cast plays in a concert-style, staged reading format.
