The Rise of the Young Feminist Party

Presented By
Claudia Nachega

Young Feminist Party Deputy Executive Director Claudia Nachega discusses the state of feminism in America and in the world, and her organization’s efforts to finalize the Equal Rights Amendment and advance gender equality.

In 2019, a handful of teenagers in Virginia worked to secure the 38th and final state ratification needed to publish the ERA. That group became the Young Feminist Party (formerly Generation Ratify) and has grown into a nationwide movement of over 14,000 young people organizing for gender justice in our communities and Constitution.

Through direct actions, legislative advocacy, electoral organizing, and judicial advocacy, the Young Feminist Party recruits, trains, and mobilizes young people to advance feminist policies, working to strengthen our schools’ Title IX policies or even amend our nation’s most foundational document.
