All Library locations will be closing early at 5 p.m. Tuesday, December 31 and remain closed Wednesday, January 1, for New Year's.
The Kansas City Public Library hosts author and journalist Richard Wolffe for a discussion of his latest book Renegade: The Making of a President on Wednesday, September 9, at 6:30 p.m. at the Plaza Branch, 4801 Main St.
A New York Times bestseller, Renegade offers a detailed and nuanced account of President Barack Obama’s campaign and his first 100 days in office. Wolffe was given exclusive and unrivalled access to Obama throughout his candidacy, resulting in more than a dozen on-the-record interviews that provide the foundation for the book.
Wolffe is the senior White House correspondent for Newsweek and provides political analysis on MSNBC, appearing regularly on Countdown with Keith Olbermann. He is also author of The Victim’s Fortune.
This event is co-sponsored by Rainy Day Books. Copies of Renegade will be available for sale, and the author will sign copies purchased during the event.
