Mondays with Milos: One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest

Former Kansas City Star film critic Robert Butler, now a member of the Library’s public affairs department, offers opening remarks on the life and career of the great Czech-American director Milos Forman to introduce a screening of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Forman’s multiple Oscar winner from 1975. (David Thomson, who was originally slated to offer a brief commentary on Foreman, is unable to come to Kansas City due to scheduling difficulties.)

The program kicks off the Mondays With Milos movie series at the Library that celebrates the works of Foreman on Monday evenings throughout September and October. (All other screenings take place at the Durwood Film Vault in the Central Library, 14 W. 10th St. starting at 6:30 p.m.)

The opening evening at the Plaza Branch and the rest of the series at the Central Library is co-sponsored by the Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic, the Honorary Consul of the Slovak Republic, and the Czech and Slovak Club of Greater Kansas City.
