This year marks the 11th year for NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest. Unsigned bands from around the country compete to play a Tiny Desk Concert at NPR’s headquarters in Washington, D.C., and to be interviewed on NPR’s All Things Considered.
Live + Local, a partnership between 90.9 The Bridge, KCUR Gen Listen, and the Library, showcases some of the Kansas City-based musicians vying for the Tiny Desk Contest. Join us for conversations and acoustic performances with artists True Lions, Jamogi & The Jammers, Jass, and Big Fat Cow.
Past winners of the contest include The Philharmonik, Little Moon, the Grammy Award-nominated Tank and the Bangas, and multiple Grammy-winner Fantastic Negrito.
Tiny Desk Concerts at NPR have featured indie musicians and big artists for an intimate performance, including Olivia Rodrigo, Smokey Robinson, and the Broadway cast of Sweeney Todd.
