Liszt in Love

Just ahead of Valentine’s Day comes this multimedia retrospective on the “Great Lover” of the music world, Franz Liszt. His dashing good looks and piano virtuosity made him a musical superstar as his performances scandalized a sensation-hungry Europe.

This presentation of films and live music performance follows Liszt from his days as a young firebrand who invented the modern concert recital to the mature artist who selflessly pursued the “Music of the Future.”

John Tibbetts, University of Kansas associate professor of theatre and film, leads this retrospective similar to his earlier programs on Frédéric Chopin and Robert Schumann.

Featured in the Liszt program will be live performances by members of the Ioudenitch Studio at Park University: Ingmar Lazar, Erin Hales, and Yuntian Liu, and Maria Ioudenitch.
