Cassandra Clare, creator of the internationally best-selling Mortal Instruments series, now towers as an author of young-adult fantasy fiction.
She discusses her life, her award-winning career, and her new Shadowhunters novel, Lady Midnight, the first in a new series, The Dark Artifices – a sequel to the Mortal Instruments. Lady Midnight features fierce Shadowhunter Emma Carstairs, who is bent on discovering what killed her parents and avenging their loss. With handsome and unendingly loyal Julian Blackthorn, she investigates a demonic plot that stretches across Los Angeles.
Clare’s books have sold more than 36 million copies and been adapted into a movie, 2013’s The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, and a television series, Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments. The latter premiered on Freeform (formerly ABC Family) in January 2016.
The event is co-presented by Rainy Day Books and co-sponsored by Mid-Continent Public Library. A book signing hosted by Rainy Day Books follows her discussion. Visit RainyDayBooks.com for details about the book signing.
