Library Giving Day was April 1! Your support ensures that all Kansas Citians have access to books, eBooks, audiobooks, and library services.
Kansas City’s 178-year history may best be told through its collectibles – from photographs and artifacts held in museums and other archival institutions, to be sure, but also from personal collections, from the snapshots, souvenirs, and other remembrances deemed important or interesting enough by families and their neighbors to preserve.
Professional photographer and local historian Bruce Mathews and Steve Noll, executive director of the Jackson County Historical Society, walk through a uniquely illustrated history of our city in a discussion of their new book Kansas City: Our Collective Memories.
A selection of items pictured in the book will be on display before and after the presentation.
