Julie & Julia

'Julie & Julia'

Presented By
Robin Li & Beck Ireland

The 2025 Searching the Psyche Through Cinema film series investigates our relationship with food as a way of understanding ourselves.

In Julie & Julia (PG-13, 123 min.), food writer Julie Powell (Amy Adams) takes on a project to prepare all 524 recipes in Julia Child’s famed cookbook, Mastering the Art of French Cooking. The film intertwines Child (Meryl Streep)’s own journey to French cuisine, with passion and plenty of butter.

Psychologist Robin Li and film critic Beck Ireland lead a post-screening discussion.
