Join us in September, October, and November as the Library shows three compelling, feature-length documentaries spotlighting some of today’s most topical health and wellness issues. Following each screening, representatives from community health partners lead an open discussion.
Healing Voices (2016; 90 min.)
Writer-director PJ Moynihan explores what is commonly viewed as severe mental illness, or psychosis, chronicling three individual cases over a nearly five-year period. “People can and do recover from even the most severe mental health issues,” Moynihan says, “and that is not the message they are getting from their doctors, or from society in general.”
September 12 Being Mortal (2015; 54 min.)
October 17 Healing Voices (2016; 90 min.)
November 28 Alive Inside (2014; 78 min.)
