On September 30, history is on the ballot in Jackson County as voters decide whether to recall County Executive Frank White, one of the metro's most powerful and recognizable leaders.
A lot is at stake.
Ahead of the pivotal vote, the Kansas City Public Library partners with Kansas City PBS for a timely community town hall on the pros and cons, the impact and implications, of this rare recall election.
The town hall, moderated by Nick Haines, an executive producer at KCPBS and host of Week in Review. He is joined by panelists: Megan Smith and Sean Smith, Jackson County legislators; Gwen Grant, CEO of the Urban League of Greater Kansas City; and Greg Vonnahme, chair of the political science department, at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
The Library and KCPBS have invited Jackson County Executive Frank White, or his chosen representative, to the event.
