All Library locations will be closed Sunday, April 20, for Easter.
Laura Kasischke speaks to us as few poets, or novelists, can.
A renowned literary multi-talent, she has won the National Book Critics Circle Award for her poetry and seen three of her novels—most recently White Bird in a Blizzard—adapted into feature films. All told, she is the author of 10 books of poetry, 10 novels, and a short story collection.
In conjunction with her four-day stay as the Cockefair Writer in Residence at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Kasischke discusses her craft and career in a conversation with Angela Elam of public radio’s New Letters on the Air. The event is co-presented by the Carolyn Benton Cockefair Chair at UMKC, the UMKC English Department, and the Writers at Work Round Table.
