Kansas City’s quiet, walkable, historic Greenway Fields area turned 100 this year. Elizabeth Noble and LaDene Morton commemorate the centennial in the book 100 Years' Journey: The Greenway Fields Neighborhood, telling the story of a place before it had a name, how it came to be, and what it stands to become in the years to come.
The two authors discuss the book, Greenway Fields’ rich history and architecture, and the neighborhood’s “well-lived first century.”
Noble, a University of Missouri-Kansas City professor emeritus, is a longtime Greenway Fields resident and member of its homes association board. Morton is the author of three books on Kansas City history and the historical novel What Lies West.
