Kathy Kelly, co-coordinator of Voices for Creative Nonviolence, discusses her four trips to Afghanistan since 2010 and explains what she learned about the conditions faced by ordinary people in a country afflicted by three decades of warfare.
The talk complements Windows and Mirrors: Reflections on the War in Afghanistan, an exhibit featuring panels created by international artists and American students to help viewers imagine the experiences of Afghan civilians. The exhibit remains on display through December 31 at the Central Library.
