Legacy and Planned Giving
Legacy and Planned Giving
Consider including the Kansas City Public Library as a beneficiary in your will, retirement assets, life insurance, or making a gift to an endowment.
Leaving a Gift in Your Will
A charitable bequest is one of the most meaningful legacies you can provide for your loved ones and your favorite organizations. These types of planned gifts can be a way for you to contribute money to the Library while also realizing some of your estate and financial planning goals.
If you have already made a planned giving arrangement for the Library with your own attorney, we hope you will complete our confidential form so we can thank you and learn how you would like to be recognized for this gift.
If you have questions about including the Library in your estate plans, please contact us at 816.701.3518 or philanthropy@kclibrary.org.
Leaving an Endowment
Planned gifts used to fund an endowment are a wonderful way to create an everlasting legacy. Endowment funds are invested strategically to preserve their original value and generate income used to support the Library’s work for generations to come. Establishing an endowment fund in your name or the name of a loved one is a way to provide ongoing support to the Kansas City Public Library.
Greenwood Society Recognition
When you make a legacy gift by including the Library in your estate plans or set up an endowment, you are invited to become a member of the Greenwood Society as a legacy member.
Please contact us at 816.701.3518 or philanthropy@kclibrary.org for information on including the Library in your will or setting up an endowment.
Annual Gift Forever
You can make a gift as enduring as your dedication to the Library when you participate in the Kansas City Public Library’s Annual Gift Forever program. This is a way for loyal library donors to include a gift to an endowment in their will, which becomes a gift that goes on forever.
