The Library and The Kansas City Star focus the latest installment of their Java with Journalist series on Jackson County and the patrons at the Trails West Branch. Anyone who lives or does business in the area is invited to sit with staff from The Star to discuss issues and concerns.

Presentation, Discussion, and Book Launch:
David Thomas will present the story of Warren Jabali, widely regarded to be the greatest high school basketball player in Kansas City history. Jabali, born Warren Armstrong, played for Central High School, Wichita State University, and the ABA, and was outspoken about his opinions on racial issues. Audience members are encouraged to share their memories of the star after the program. Books will be available for sale.

Stop in at the North-East Public Library for a healthy after-school snack. In partnership with Harvesters, Kids Cafe will be every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 3:00-4:00.
You must be 18 and under to receive a meal and the meal must be eaten in the kids cafe room.
