Join us at Bluford as we start the summer right with our Summer Reading Kickoff!
With our Summer Reading theme "Color our World", we think our kickoff party should include colorful sounds. When you sign up for Summer Reading you will get a free book!
Join us as we enjoy the colorful sounds of Mariachi Flor de Missouri to Kirk Hall. With the motto “¿Por qué mariachi? ¡Porque nos encanta!” (“Why mariachi? Because we love it!”), Mariachi Flor de Missouri’s traditional Mexican style practically drips with love, romance, and fun.
The band features sophisticated arrangements, with breathtaking, heartfelt vocals, warm trumpets, smooth violins, dancing accordion, bright vihuela, sultry guitar and deep guitarrón - all performed with great gusto and enthusiasm. Since 2016, Mariachi Flor de Missouri has moved diverse audiences to both laughter and tears, singing in Spanish and often teaching about the songs and culture in English.
At the request of their patrons, they have expanded their traditional mariachi repertoire to include innovative original covers in English. Mariachi Flor de Missouri is equally at home in the backyard and the big stage and for this performance in the Central Library.
