We are upgrading our public computers and due to time needed for installation of planned enhancements, public computers at each location will be unavailable or limited for patron use on certain dates.
Everyone has a story. Sometimes it’s a chance encounter worthy of a mystery novel; sometimes it’s a simple moment of beauty that stops you in your tracks. But putting it into words can be difficult. In this course, we’ll learn how to turn everyday life into a compelling narrative, using techniques from creative non-fiction.
Participants will:
- Review examples of stellar short non-fiction.
- Isolate a specific event in their past
- Craft a short piece (250-500 words) to memorialize that moment
This class is taught by a graduate student in the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s MFA Program in Creative Writing.
