Your KCPL account gives you access to thousands of movies; films to check out from our Central Vault collection as well as to stream from Kanopy and hoopla. Our staff, Cullen and James, will announce a movie to discuss at the beginning of each month. You’ll have a few weeks to watch the movie. Then, on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m., we will meet on ZOOM and discuss. You can pop your own popcorn, wear your fuzzy slippers (or your dinner jacket) and talk cinema. See you at the movies!
In this dark drama featuring Nicolas Cage, a truffle hunter, who lives alone in the Oregon wilderness must return to his past in Portland in search of his beloved foraging pig after she is kidnapped. Thrilling, reflective, and compassionate in equal measure, this fascinating film is a meditation on what it takes to devote yourself to what you love, and how to face the past when it collides with the present.
This program is intended for individuals 18 years and older.
