Join us every 4th Saturday of the month at the Westport branch to appreciate and learn about the History of American Music through a musical biopic! There will be a short pre-discussion on the artist/band/group(s) featured in the film, and then most of the biopic will be shown.
The artist of the month for March is country music legend Johnny Cash, and we'll be showing the Oscar-winning movie Walk the Line which stars Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon. Both actors are very convincing in portraying Johnny Cash and June Carter, even using their own singing voices for some of the songs.
