Celebrating Black History
The Kansas City Public Library celebrates Black History Month in February.
The Central Library features talks about 19th century German immigrant abolitionists and mid-20thcentury federal and state housing policies. Stop by the Lucile H. Bluford Branch for Black Cinema Week or the Southeast Branch for the Black Inventors series.
This year also marks the 15th annual Black History Month booklet. The project, an ongoing collaboration among the Library, Black Archives of Mid-America, and LINC, highlights six individuals who paved the way for others to succeed.
