Former Kansas City School District teacher James P. Wilcox discusses Sex, Lies, and the Classroom – a novel set in a fictional inner-city school.

The book follows the life of teacher Nathaniel O’Connell, who thought he knew how to survive at the low-income, ethnically diverse, inner-city school. But a run in with three students who know how to inflict pain, both physical and emotional, leaves him fighting for his reputation, his job, his family, and his very survival.

Wilcox is the author of a second novel, The M-16 Agenda, and a collection of poetry, Musings of a Particular Bear.
