The Young Friends of the Library host a night of Halloween-season cinema after hours in the Central Library. Join us for some scares among the shelves in Kirk Hall as we show the meta-horror classic SCREAM (1996, R, 1h 51 min).
This event is free, but tickets are required and space is limited. Guests will enjoy two free beers compliments of Big Rip Brewery. We’ll also have some sinister snacks, but feel free to bring your own movie-watching food. Costumes highly encouraged.
Doors open at 7:30 p.m.; Screening begins at 8 p.m.
ABOUT THE FILM:
A year after her mother's brutal murder, high school student Sydney Prescott (Neve Campbell) and her friends are stalked by a serial killer who's obsessed with horror movies. With help from town deputy Dewey Riley (David Arquette), reporter Gale Weathers (Courtney Cox), and film geek Randy Meeks (Jamie Kennedy), she attempts to unravel the identity of the masked killer.
Directed by horror master Wes Craven (A Nightmare on Elm Street), SCREAM combines elements of a traditional slasher pic with moments of dark humor that knowingly plays on classic genre tropes and clichés. It’s a horror film for horror fans.
