All Library locations will be closed Tuesday, December 24 & Wednesday, December 25, for the Christmas holiday.
Kansas City-area artist Jessica Kincaid is best known for her beaded tapestries, featuring visionary and surreal imagery, scenes of nature, and abstract compositions.
A selection of her work over the past decade makes up the third in a series of Library exhibits commemorating the 20th anniversary of the arts-supporting Charlotte Street Foundation. It also features a recent series of works on paper and textiles inspired by her studies in web development.
Kincaid, a Charlotte Street Award recipient in 2007, has displayed her work at the Kansas City Jewish Museum, Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, and Michigan’s Cranbrook Art Museum. The Library exhibit is co-sponsored by the Charlotte Street Foundation and made possible by a grant from the Enid and Crosby Kemper Foundation, UMB Bank, n.a., Trustee.
