Star Trek: First Contact (1996, PG)

Fifty years ago this month, on September 8, 1966, NBC launched a new science-fiction television series that would become one of the most revered franchises in American entertainment history. Star Trek generated five more TV series (with a sixth in the works) and three generations of films along with an array of books, games, and toys. Celebrating the golden anniversary, the Library screens the best installment in each of the movie series as rated by RottenTomatoes.com. It wraps up with 1999’s Galaxy Quest, the popular, tongue-in-cheek homage to Star Trek and its legion of Trekkies. SATURDAYS AT 1:30 P.M. Stanley H.
